In 1990 I did an MA in Ceramics at Goldsmiths, followed by a short stint at the Dartington Pottery before going to Japan. There I immersed myself in Japanese culture, working with various potters and studying calligraphy with Shingai Tanaka, with whom I later had a joint exhibition of 'Calligraphy & Ceramics' at the Daiwa Foundation in London.
In 2001, I moved to the Preseli Hills in Pembrokeshire with my family, where we brought up three children while converting an old farm yard into a family home, holiday cottages, and a pottery studio.
