Russell's work is influenced by 'proper country pottery'. Using terracotta clay he makes very usable pots that are decorated with slips that are applied in a variety of ways such as dipping, pouring, brushing, trailing or splashing with animated movements. This is fired to around 1100 degrees C using a gas kiln. Russell will demonstrate his unique way of creating his slip decorated toasty rich pottery.
