Sue Barnes

I live and work in Dolgellau where we have lived for the last ten years following my early retirement from university in Glasgow. I am almost entirely self-taught and still take great pleasure in experimenting and finding new methods and techniques. Being very much an outdoor person, I take great inspiration from the wildlife around me as well as the myths of Wales. My work is largely figurative and, rather than being painstakingly accurate, I take great delight in capturing the essential detail of a bird or creature which brings it to life.
