After a BA at Newcastle College of Art, I taught art and ceramics for several years. Then in 1983 I established my workshop and gallery in Chepstow, and became a full time potter.
I love the physical act of shaping pots on the wheel from soft, plastic clay. The stoneware and porcelain bowls, dishes and jugs I produce have a fluidity of form with rich and vibrant glazes.
I am an enthusiastic cook, and many of my thrown products are ideal for preparing and serving food.
I do not restrict myself to throwing, I use soft sheets of clay to shape sculptures and vases based on the human form. I also use sprigs and stamps with precision, to create sculptures reflecting my fascination with architecture and the landscape.
I create a wide range of wheel thrown pottery and sculpture in my Chepstow workshop, on the Wales/England border.
Over half of my work is now done to commission, for both national and local organisations.
