I live in the Forest of Dean, and enjoy engaging with clay.
I make work in response to Nature and to the landscape.
Two main sorts of work:
Low fired, hand built, smoked and burnished work, using sawdust, saggars, or pit firing. After a residency apprenticeship with master potter and tea bowl maker Tozan Wada of Kotoura-gama, Amagasaki, Japan in 2008, Raku tea bowls are also being developed.
Shown here are some made with Tozan Wada in Japan.
Higher fired pots and sculptures for garden and other outdoor use. These include landscape pots using different coloured clays and stains to reflect a particular landscape setting or site, and other specially commissioned fountains, pots or sculptures – enquiries welcome.
